Trees & Wildlife
Many of the trees sold by the NRD are used for windbreaks, which prevent soil erosion, protect crops and livestock, enhance the quality of rural life, reduce utility bills, and provide habitat for wildlife.
The NRD normally sells about 80,000 trees in Cheyenne, Deuel and Kimball counties each year.
Cost share is available to help pay for trees in a variety of programs.
